Problem Note 43677: Enabling the SAS® BI Dashboard to access the SharePoint server is no longer needed in the latest release of SAS® Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint
With the release of SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 4.3.1, a configuration step that is documented in the
SAS® 9.3 Intelligence Platform Installation and Configuration Guide is no longer needed.
The step that is no longer needed appears in two places in Chapter 5:
- In Step 3 in the section "Automatically Deploy SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint"
- In Step 7 in the section "Manually Deploy SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint and Move It" (which points to the section "Enabling SAS BI Dashboard to Access the SharePoint Server" in the SAS Intelligence Platform: Web Application Administration Guide)
The instruction in both of these places is to enable the SAS BI Dashboard to access the SharePoint Server. However, in SAS Web Parts 4.3.1, a token is sent to the metadata server via the URL when the dashboard is requested. Consequently, you no longer need to add the SharePoint server or port to the d.Midtier.trusted.URLs property. Therefore, the documented configuration step is no longer needed.
The documentation related to this step will be updated in a future release of the SAS® 9.3 Intelligence Platform Installation and Configuration Guide.
