Problem Note 43487: An error occurs when you use the FILENAME SFTP access method in SAS® programs
When you use the FILENAME SFTP access method in SAS, the following error might occur:
ERROR: Connection refused, check authentication and sshd server status.
If this error occurs, do the following:
- Ensure that the path to the PuTTY software is included in the PATH environment variable. The PATH environment variable must contain the path to the PuTTY software for proper functionality of the SFTP engine.
- Ensure that key authentication is being used in your PuTTY configuration.
- Provide a physical path, rather than a relative path, in the file specification.
