Problem Note 43387: Stored processes with an input stream might return errors when executed in Microsoft Excel using the SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office

When executing a stored process within Microsoft Excel, you might see the following error.
The stored process library failed to retrieve the result. This stored process does not appear to have generated a result package. Are %STPBEGIN/%STPEND used in the stored process? Did the stored process run without errors?
In the SAS log, you will see an error similar to the following:
ERROR: There is an illegal character in the name.
encountered during XMLMap parsing
occurred at or near line 5, column 6
ERROR: XML describe error: Internal processing error.
This error is most likely to occur when the stored process contains an input stream and you enter a variable name that contains a space in the spreadsheet.
To circumvent the error, enter variable names without spaces as inputs.
