Usage Note 43280: Setting MEMSIZE as a restricted option might override the MEMSIZE setting used by the Metadata server
By default, the MetadataServer.sh script sets the value for the
SAS system option MEMSIZE to MAX in UNIX environments.
It is possible to set MEMSIZE as a restricted option,
as documented in Chapter 2 of the
Configuration Guide for SAS® 9.4 Foundation for UNIX® Environments.
Be aware that setting MEMSIZE as a global restricted option might cause the Metadata server process to fail with memory-related errors if the value you choose is too low.
For example, if you set MEMSIZE as a global restricted option,
the value you set will override all other settings for MEMSIZE,
including the setting for the Metadata server.
Similarly, if you set MEMSIZE as a restricted option for the sas installer-id
or the sas installer-id group, and the value you choose is too low, the Metadata server process might fail.
