Usage Note 42733: Unable to unprotect data in SAS® Enterprise Guide® when opening from a local machine without local SAS® installed
When you open a SAS table within SAS Enterprise Guide from your My Computer or My Documents location on a machine that does not have a local SAS installation, you will not be able to edit the data. Under these circumstances, the table is opened using the SAS® Local Data Provider, and the Edit ► Protect Data option cannot be deselected.
To circumvent this problem, save your data to a library or file location on the SAS server, open the data from the server location, and then unprotect and edit the data.
