Installation Note 42567: Incorrect permissions for the /tmp folder during configuration under UNIX can cause SASĀ® BI Dashboard to function incorrectly
In UNIX operating environments, the drop-down lists for the SAS BI Dashboard indicators will be empty if the permissions for the /tmp folder are incorrect during configuration.
In addition, the following error appears in the bidashmid_loadContent_xxxx-xx-xx-xx.xx.xx.log
files that are located in the
SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Logs\Configure directory:
[echo] INFO Indicator view definiton "/System/Applications/SAS BI Dashboard/BI Dashboard 4.3/ViewDefinitions/BarAndTrend.ivd" (A5LT1TZK.B100017R)
[echo] INFO Importing 1 content item for document "BarAndTrend.ivd"
[echo] Error creating new temporary file (prefix = "tmp" suffix="file" directory = "/var/tmp/sas.core.tmpfiles") in com.sas.io.util.FileCleanup
[echo] java.io.IOException: Permission denied
To resolve this issue, the user who is configuring the SAS software must have permission to read from and write to the
/tmp directory of the file system. With the necessary permissions, the user can rerun the following shell scripts from the
SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Web\Utilities directory:
manualLoadContent-xxxxxx.bat
manualLoadContent-xxxxxx.sh
manualUpdateContent-xxxxxx.bat
manualUpdateContent-xxxxxx.sh
