Problem Note 42860: The SAS/GRAPH® ACTIVEX device driver might abend on UNIX when no X Windows display is available
Error messages might be written to the SAS® Log when using the ACTIVEX device driver on a UNIX host machine. These error messages will occur when SAS is not running in an X Windows display environment or when using the NOTERMINAL invocation option.
When this occurs, error messages similar to the following will be written to the SAS Log:
Segmentation Violation In Task [ GCHART ]

- /local/applis/ITRM32/install/SASFoundation/9.2/sasexe/sasmotif

To circumvent the problem, either switch to a device driver other than ACTIVEX, such as the PNG device driver, or run SAS within an X Windows display environment and do not invoke SAS with the NOTERMINAL option.
