Installation Note 42810: A valid version of the IBM WebSphere JDK must be installed to avoid an error in execution of the SAS® Deployment Wizard "Loading Content" stage
During execution of the Loading Content stage of the SAS® Deployment Wizard, the following error occurs if you do not have a valid version of the internal Java Development Kit (JDK) for IBM WebSphere:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.InternalError:
java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: SHA MessageDigest not available"
This error is part of a Build Failed error in the product_loadContent_date;_##.##.##.txt files. For example, the error appears in the files bidashmid_loadContent_2011-03-24-14.13.11.txt or
citationweb_loadContent_2011-03-24-14.12.26.txt.
This problem occurs if an invalid version of the IBM WebSphere JDK is installed. You must use JDK version SR8 or later. To determine the JDK version that WebSphere is using, submit the following command at a system prompt:
- For UNIX hosts:
./java -version
- For Windows hosts:
java -version
The information that you receive is similar to the following message. Notice that the highlighted version in this example is only SR2, which is invalid.

This message means that the fix pack for the Java Runtime Environment in WebSphere has not been applied in order to upgrade the JDK, which must be at SR8 or later.
The Java Software Development Kit (SDK)) Fix Pack is a separate download component. This component is not upgraded when you install only the Application Server Fix Pack. To upgrade the Java SDK version, download and install the Java SDK Fix Pack separately. You can obtain the platform-specific .pak file for the Java SDK Fix Pack from the Java SDK fix packs for WebSphere Application Server download page.
