Problem Note 42696: Errors can occur when you use SAS/SHARE® software's Remote Library Services with encryption options and overlapping I/O
Errors can occur when you execute SAS code using a Remote Library Services library (for example, through a SAS/SHARE server) and you also have the following circumstances:
- The NETENCRYPT and the NETENCRYPTALGORITHM=SASProprietary system options are set.
- Overlapping I/O is enabled in SAS/SHARE software. This feature is enabled by default.
The errors that occur are similar to the following:
Error 1
ERROR: A communication subsystem message presentation interface failure has occurred.
ERROR: A bug in SAS has been encountered. Please call your SAS representative and report the
following message: WZX: origin buffer overflowed.
Error 2

You can avoid these errors either by not using encryption or by disabling the overlapping I/O. To disable overlapping I/O, start your SAS program with this %LET statement:
%let noovlpio=yes;
Rather than edit each program individually, you can disable overlapping I/O for all of your programs by adding the following statement to your SAS configuration file:
-set noovlpio yes
However, be aware that disabling the overlapping I/O can greatly hinder performance when you use Remote Library Services.
