Problem Note 42393: Modifying a large file in the Import Data task might perform poorly in SAS® Enterprise Guide®

In the Import Data task of SAS Enterprise Guide, there is a Performance Option called Limit the amount of source data examined to determine record and field attributes. The option works correctly the first time that the task is run. However, subsequent use of Modify Task causes all of the data to be read instead of honoring the setting.
