Usage Note 42367: How to enable X commands for SAS® 9.2 Integration Technology servers that are started by the SAS Object Spawner.
There are two methods for enabling X commands in SAS® 9.2. The first method is on a server by server basis by using SAS® Managment Console and going to:
Server Properties ► Options ► Advanced Options ► Launch Properties
Once the X command is added, the SAS Object Spawner must be restarted or refreshed for the changes to take effect.
The second method will enable X commands for all servers that the SAS Object Spawner launches by invoking the SAS Object Spawner with the -allowxcmd option as describe below.
For Unix, the -allowxcmd option should be added to the CMD_OPTIONS= line located near the top of the ObjectSpawner.sh script. The SAS Object Spawner process must be restarted for the change to take effect by running these shell scripts:
- ObjectSpawner.sh stop
- ObjectSpawner.sh start
For Windows, the -allowxcmd option should be added to the CMD_OPTIONS= line located near the top of the ObjectSpawner.bat file. The SAS Object Spawner service must be reinstalled for the change to take effect.
- Stop the SAS Object Spawner from the Windows Service Control Manager.
- Deinstall the service by executing "ObjectSpawner.bat remove".
- Install the service by executing "ObjectSpawner.bat install".
- Start the SAS Object Spawner from the Windows Service Control Manager.
