When installing a secondary ODCS server for SAS^® Financial Management 5.2 in a UNIX environment, the SAS^® Deployment Wizard might fail during the MySQL configuration phase. When this happens, a dialog box will be displayed in the SAS Deployment Wizard that contains the following message:

An error similar to the following will be written to Lev1/Logs/Configure/mysqldbs_configure_<DATESTAMP>.log:

WORKAROUND

If you are in the middle of the configuration phase and you currently see the SAS Deployment Wizard dialog window, OR if you have not yet started the configuration phase use the following workaround:

1. Edit the mysqldbs_config.xml file, which is typically found in the following directory structure:
   SASHOME/SASDeploymentManager/9.2/products/cfgwizard__92400__prt__xx__sp0__1/mysqldbs/Config/
   .

   Note: The version of cfgwizard will vary based on the Ship Event that you have installed.

2. Find the following line (typically near line number 390):

   <runtarget target="updatePath"
         description="Update the system path variable."/>
   

3. Comment out this line as follows:

   <!--<runtarget target="updatePath"
             description="Update the system path variable."/>-->
   

If you are in the middle of the configuration phase, you can select Retry in the dialog box after you have made the preceeding change.

Note: If you make this change to the mysqldbs_config.xml file BEFORE you start the configuration phase, you should not see the error "Unable to link SAS/ACCESS to MySQL."
