Usage Note 42143: PROC ASSIGN has been discontinued
The ASSIGN procedure in SAS/OR software was created to handle textbook-size problems and was not intended for larger assignment problems. This procedure has been discontinued and no longer appears in the SAS/OR® documentation.
Instead, you can use the linear assignment problem solver in PROC OPTNET or the state-of-the-art linear programming solver or network solver in PROC OPTMODEL. To use PROC OPTMODEL you will need to reformulate the problem as a general linear program. This note illustrates how to solve a linear assignment problem with PROC OPTNET and PROC OPTMODEL.
