When opening a bar chart or graph results from the SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office, you might receive an error message similar to the following:

"Bar Chart" encountered errors while opening the results:  Cannot insert object.

Here are a few suggestions for resolving this error:

1. Make sure that the ActiveX control can open by checking your Trust Center options. To check these settings, click the Microsoft Office button, and then click Excel Options. In the left-hand panel, select Trust Center. On the right, click the Trust Center Settings button, and then select ActiveX Settings. You can try selecting a less restrictive ActiveX option.
2. Still in the Trust Center Settings, select Macro Settings, and then select the Trust access to the VBA project object model option.
3. Make sure that when you installed Office you performed a full install. Alternatively, if you performed a custom install, make sure that you selected to install the Office Shared Features.
