Usage Note 42081: What is a SAS® Financial Management 'reporting entity'?
In SAS Financial Management, there is the potential for confusion by the term 'reporting entity'. In SAS Financial Management, your members do not need to be designated as reporting entities in order for you to include them in your reporting and analyses. Rather, reporting entity status is used to determine if an organization member can be specified in a balanced manual adjustment as the entity for which the adjustment must balance. Also, in ownership rules, only reporting entities can participate in the ownership relationships that you define. As such, there typically is not a need to have leaf/base-level members of the Organization dimension hierarchies designated as reporting entities.
