Installation Note 42013: Installing SAS® software on Linux requires the 32-bit package libXext-1.1-2.el6.i386
When installing SAS® 9.2 or higher on Linux, the 32-bit package libXext-1.1-2.el6.i386 is required, allowing for the installation of the 32-bit version of libXext.so.6 into /usr/lib. This package is needed to support Java-based applications in SAS 9.2 and higher, including the SAS Deployment Wizard.
Note: This 32-bit package is required regardless of whether you are installing the 32-bit (LINUX) or the 64-bit (LIN X64) release of SAS for Linux.
Without the 32-bit package, you receive this error when you attempt to install SAS:
bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory.
The system requirements documentation states that this package is required.
