Usage Note 42006: Modifying or loading a new SAS® Solutions Data Mart (SASSDM) or other MySQL database requires a restart of the application servers
The details of this SAS Note are for versions of SAS® Financial Management prior to 5.4 running on WebLogic. Versions 5.4 and higher on the SAS® 9.4 platform simply require a restart of SASServer3 and SASServer4 after the SASSDM is restored.
After you load a new SAS Solutions Data Mart (SASSDM) or other SAS Solutions database or to MySQL, the newly-loaded data is not visible in SAS Financial Management.
After you have loaded the SASSDM/MySQL database, you need to restart the WebLogic application servers and clear the application server cache, as follows:
- For SAS Financial Management release 4.x:
- Stop the SASManagedServer, SASODCSServer, and SAS Remote/Foundation Services (in that order).
- To clear the cache:
- On the mid-tier machine, navigate to:
<drive>:\bea\user_projects\domains\SASSolutions\SASManagedServer\.wlnotdelete
and delete the folders under this directory.
- Next. navigate to:
<drive>:\bea\user_projects\domains\SASSolutions\SASODCSServer\.wlnotdelete
and delete the folders under this directory.
- Finally, navigate to:
<drive>:\bea\user_projects\domains\SASSolutions\odcs\facts
and delete the entire contents of this directory.
- It is also a good practice to clear (or archive) the existing log files so we have clean server logs when you re-start. To do so, you simply access the log files in the above SASManagedServer and SASODCSServer directories.
- Restart the SAS Remote/Foundation Services, SASODCSServer, and the SASManagedServer (in that order).
- For SAS Financial Management release 5.x:
- Shut down the SAS Solutions Services (SASServer3, by default) application server and also shut down the ODCS (SASServer4, by default) application server.
- Open a command window and change directory to WebLogic application server sub-directory for the SAS Solutions Server
(for example: \sas\config\lev1\web\SASDomain\servers\SASServer3)
- At a minimum, you need to clear the /TMP and /CACHE sub-directories by executing this command in your command window:
rd /s /q tmp cache
It is often a good practice to also delete (or archive) the contents of the \LOGS directory, so we have clean server logs when you re-start. To delete the server log files, you simply modify the above command to read:
rd /s /q tmp cache logs
- Repeat this process for ODCS/SASServer4
- Use the WebLogic Server Administration console to restart the SAS Solutions Server (SASServer3) and the SAS ODCS Server (SASServer4). Access the WebLogic Server Administration Console on the mid-tier server via:
http://:7501/console/login/LoginForm.jsp
with default username of <weblogicadm> (for SAS Financial Management release 4.x)
or <weblogic> (for release 5.x)
and password of <AdminAdmin1>.
Please note that these are the defaults and they might be different at your site.
