Usage Note 41807: Using an insufficient level of the IBM Java Software Development Kit (SDK) causes the SAS® Content Server to fail

If you deploy the SAS Content Server to a Web application server that is using an insufficient level of IBM Java SDK (JDK) 1.6, the SAS Content Server fails to initialize properly. The following exception also appears in the SASContentServer.log file:

This failure can cause a variety of other failures during configuration steps in the SAS® Deployment Wizard and during start-up of a SAS web application. The following error from the webinfpltfm_loadContent_YYYY-MM-DD-HH.MM.SS.log file is one such failure:

The baseline versions of the IBM Java SDK 1.6 that are required by the SAS Web applications on JBoss and Oracle WebLogic are documented in Third Party Software Requirements for use with SAS® Products.
The Java SDK that is used with the IBM WebSphere Application Server is bundled with WebSphere, and it is ordinarily updated when WebSphere is updated. The versions of the Java SDK that are shipped with WebSphere Application Server Fix Packs are documented in Verify Java SDK version shipped with IBM WebSphere Application Server Fix Packs.
To correct this problem, you must upgrade the Java SDK at least to the required baseline version.
