There are several methods you can use to determine which release of the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office is installed on your machine. The most convenient way to find your release information is to bring up the “About” information under Help for the SAS Add-In. The following examples pertain to Microsoft Office 2007, so details will vary for other versions of Microsoft Office:

If the SAS ribbon (or menu) is not available on your system, you can determine the release of the add-in as described below.

SAS^® Add-In 2.1 for Microsoft Office

Run the installation checker:

1. Navigate to the default installation path:
   C:\Program Files\SAS\Add-In for Microsoft Office\InstallChecker.exe
   
Note: The presence or absence of spaces within the product name portion of the installation path varies by release; for SAS Add-In 2.1, the product name contains spaces.
2. Run the installation checker, which is available at C:\Program Files\SAS\Add-In for Microsoft Office\InstallChecker.exe. The checker displays a GUI that shows the add-in release number after Service pack level:

Another method of determining the release number is to examine the Version tab of the SAS.OfficeAddin.dll Properties property sheet:

1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\SAS\Add-In for Microsoft Office.
2. Right-click the SAS.OfficeAddin.dll file.
3. Select Properties.
4. Click the Version tab. The release number is the value for File version:

Run the installation checker:

1. Navigate to the default installation path:
   C:\Program Files\SAS\Add-InForMicrosoftOffice\4.2
