Problem Note 41254: You are not prompted to provide passwords when you submit a batch SAS/CONNECT® SIGNON statement with PW=_PROMPT_ even if a terminal is available

A batch SAS/CONNECT SIGNON statement that is submitted using PW=_PROMPT_ does not prompt for passwords, even if a terminal is available for the prompt.
The following sample code prompts for your password when it is invoked in a batch SAS® session:
/* Show status of DMR and TERMINAL options. */
%put dmr=%sysfunc(getoption(dmr)) terminal=%sysfunc(getoption(terminal));
signon hostname.__1234 uid="doesntmatter" pw=_prompt_;
rsubmit;
endrsubmit;
signoff;
This code works in releases prior to SAS 9.2. However, you get the following error message when you run the same code in SAS 9.2:
NOTE: Remote signon to HOSTNAME.__1234 commencing (SAS Release
9.02.02M3P041310).
ERROR: No terminal connected to the SAS session.
