Problem Note 41093: An error occurs and you cannot access an Oracle table when you use a schema name or a user ID that contains a dollar sign ($)

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

If an Oracle user ID or schema name contains a dollar sign ($), you must add double quotation marks around the user ID or schema name when you register Oracle tables from SAS® Management Console. After you register the table, when you try to access these tables from SAS® Enterprise Guide®, you might receive an error saying that the table does not exist, as shown in this example:

"SELECT * FROM "Ctaf2$Current".DEM"

ERROR: File TEST2.DEM.DATA does not exist.

You can either work around the problem or download a hot fix.

To work around this issue, do the following:

  1. Put double quotation marks around the user ID or schema name in SAS Management Console.
  2. Register the tables.
  3. Remove the quotation marks so that you can access the ID or name from SAS Enterprise Guide.

To access the hot fix for this issue, click the Hot Fix tab in this note.
