Usage Note 41990: A "diagram files cannot be loaded in update mode...", or "cannot open workspace file..." error appears when you try to open a diagram
When accessing a diagram in SAS®Enterprise Miner™, the following error might appear:
Some Enterprise Miner diagram files cannot be loaded in update
mode. Please report unresolved problems to Technical Support.
The SAS log will also show this error, or it will reference some other dataset:
ERROR: Cannot open workspace file "EMWS.EM.DGRAPH"
Here are some topics that are related to possible causes:
- encoding: the operating system encoding or locale that is trying to display the project is different from the operating system that originated the project.
- If the encoding differs between the creating the project and opening the project, then you might need to explicitly set the ENCODING= parm in the workspace server sasv9_usermods.cfg file. For additional information regarding this topic, see SAS Note 35644 "The locale for a SAS® 9.2 server session binds to the client locale".
- You can run the following SAS command from the different systems to determine the locale and encoding that are used:
proc options group=languagecontrol value; run;
- permissions: confirm that you have operating system permissions to the diagrams and data sources included in the project.
- space allocation: if you are using SAS® OnDemand for Academics: Enterprise Miner™, you might have exceeded the 750MB project space allocation
Prior to SAS Enterprise Miner 6.2, the error message text was the following:
exception.server.workspace.couldnotopen,emws.em_dgraph
