Problem Note 41940: The error "System.Xml.XmlException Root element is missing" might occur when you invoke SAS® Enterprise Guide® 4.2

- Close all instances of SAS Enterprise Guide.
- Open one instance of SAS Enterprise Guide and select Tools ► Options ► Project Recovery. Use the path that is specified there to locate the recovery.xml file.
- Rename the recovery.xml file to recovery.xml.old.
- Close and then restart SAS Enterprise Guide. The problem should be fixed when you restart the application.
