Problem Note 41747: Various errors are received when executing a SAS Stored Process if one or more Shared parameter prompts cannot be found
When executing a SAS® Stored Process, an error message will be received if the SAS Stored Process definition contains a Shared parameter prompt that is not found in the SAS® Metadata Repository.
If the SAS Stored Process containing the missing shared prompt is executed from SAS® Enterprise Guide®, the error is:
This parameter cannot be null: prompt.
If the SAS Stored Process is requested from a SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office client, the SAS Stored Process will not load and the following error is received:
The stored process "<StoredProcessName>" was not found in the repository.
Verify that the stored process still exists, and you have permission to
execute it.
If the SAS Stored Process is executed from a SAS Web application (such as the SAS® Information Delivery Portal or Stored Process Web Application), a java.lang.NullPointerException error is received in the browser and the Web server log will include an error similar to this:
com.sas.prompts.definitions.shared.SharedTextDefinition -
com.sas.services.ServiceException: Could not find the
definition named: <SharedPromptName>
To avoid the problem, you must ensure that the Shared prompt has not been moved or deleted from its original folder location in SAS metadata and that the connecting user has ReadMetadata access to the Shared prompt and its parent folders in SAS® Management Console.
