Usage Note 41670: Saving a large SCL list with uniquely named items to a catalog SLIST entry could result in slow performance
When saving large SCL lists to an SLIST catalog entry, you might experience an unexpected delay. Often, this delay is caused by named items that are unique for each list item.
To see better performance when saving a large SCL list, you can do the following:
- break the large list into smaller lists and then save the lists individually
- save the SCL list to an external file
- use a SAS data set to store and retrieve the information using SCL Data Set functions
