Installation Note 41649: If Perl environment variables are set for the installation userid, SASĀ® Foundation installation fails
The SAS® installation scripts use their own version of Perl.
If you have Perl environment variables set (for example, PERL5LIB) for the
userid that is used to perform the installation,
then the installation scripts can fail at various places.
The /tmp/_setupYYYYYY/.unixkit_cmd.sh script frequently fails for this
reason.
Various failures can occur, including segmentation violation errors or
"Illegal instruction" errors accompanied by core dumps.
To determine what environment variables are set, issue the UNIX env
command at the UNIX command prompt of the session.
Use the same userid as you will use to perform the installation.
If any Perl environment variables are present in the profile of
the userid, you must remove them.
