If SAS® Enterprise Miner™ is unresponsive and does not open, you might receive the following error in the em.log file if additional logging has been activated:
Exception in thread "main" java.awt.AWTError: Assistive Technology
not found: com.encentuate.EncentuateAWTHook
at java.awt.Toolkit.loadAssistiveTechnologies(Unknown Source)
at java.awt.Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit(Unknown Source)
at sun.java2d.d3d.D3DGraphicsDevice.(Unknown Source)
This can happen if you are running Java applications with native assistive technologies.
To correct this behavior in SAS, do the following:
Locate the accessibility.properties from your JAVA_HOME\jre\lib or JAVA_HOME/jre/lib directory. (For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_14\lib) .)
Comment out any lines that contain "assistive_technologies=" and/or "AWT.assistive_technologies=". Place a # at the beginning of each line that you want to comment out.
Important: Depending on how your site is set up, after you reboot your PC, the accessibility.properties file might be restored with the original content. If this is the case, edit the file again. This has been known to occur at sites that have very strict security.
You can enable the client logging by editing the em.ini file, which is located in C:\SAS\config dir\Lev#\AnalyticsPlatform\apps\ EnterpriseMiner\bin\. In the file, change applogloc= to applogloc=..\Logs\em.log (this creates an em.log file).
