Installation Note 41267: After a SAS® Financial Management release 5.1 to 5.2 Upgrade In Place (UIP), the SAS Solutions Add-In for Microsoft Office does not work
When a SAS Financial Management, SAS Human Capital Management, or SAS Strategy Management release 5.1 to 5.2 Upgrade In Place (UIP) is done on the client tier, the SAS Solutions Add-In for Microsoft Excel might not be enabled properly.
To enable the Add-In:
- Re-run the SAS Deployment Wizard and re-install the SAS Soltuions Add-In for Microsoft Office.
- Be certain to provide the correct server and port when prompted during the SAS Deployment Wizard step: Specify URL of Available Servers File.
- After the SAS Deployment Wizard complets, start an Excel session.
- Enable the SAS SES Excel Add-In, as follows:
For Office 2007:
- Click on the Office Button.
- Select Excel Options.
- Select Add-Ins.
- In the Manage box at the bottom of the page, select COM Add-ins and select Go.
- Ensure all of the SAS add-ins are enabled, particularly the SAS SES Excel Add-In.
- Restart Excel.
For Office 2003:
- Select Help > About Microsoft Excel > Disabled items.
- If there are any SAS items in the list select the item and click Enable.
- Restart Excel.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
When accessing Microsoft Excel and trying to log on to the SAS Add-Ins, the end-user might see the following error message:
"A problem has been encountered reading the .ini file"
