Installation Note 41118: The maintenance configuration fails on SAS Shared Services when the SAS® Metadata Server and the SAS middle tier are combined on one server
A maintenance configuration might fail on SAS Shared Services when the SAS Metadata Server and the middle tier are combined on one server and when the SAS server tier is on another machine. When this happens, an error message similar to the following appears in the SAS® Deployment Manager:
BUILD FAILED
/install/software/SASSharedServices/9.2/Config/biservmid_config.xml:227: java.sql.SQLException: Unable to connect:
The application could not log on to the server "server:2171". No server is available at that port on that machine.
To resolve this:
- When a message appears that states that the SAS Shared Services failed, leave the dialog box open and navigate to the machine that contains the SAS server tier.
- Apply the third maintenance release for SAS® 9.2 (TS2M3) to the SAS server tier.
- Go back to the dialog box with the message about SAS Shared Services and click Retry.
