Problem Note 41115: Loading a large SAS data file into memory can cause macro slowdown
Using a SASFILE Load command to move a large SAS data file into machine memory causes macro functions to slow down. Unloading the Data file from memory returns the memory to the available pool, but the macro functions continue to perform slowly.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
If loading a very large SAS data file, relative to available machine memory, in to memory with a SASFILE statement, certain macro functions can be negatively impacted. Clearing the data file from memory does not solve the problem.
