Usage Note 40840: Performance slows when you add attachments in SASĀ® Enterprise Case Management
When you add attachments in SAS Enterprise Case Management, performance might be slow.
SAS Enterprise Case Management calls the createAttachment method (within SAS Shared Services). This method updates the SAS Shared Services schema and calls the DAVContentService method (within SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Services). In turn, the DAVContentService method calls the Information Service method (within SAS Remote Services), which communicates with the SAS® Content Server. The DAVContentService method contains a refresh method that performs the following tasks:
- The method determines the existence of the folder structure where the attachment will be inserted.
- It returns the most updated version of the folder structure.
This refresh process takes more time as the data grows.
For example, if you add one attachment (1 MB in size), the process takes
approximately 16 seconds. However, if you apply a new JAR file, the response
time decreases to 1 second.
