Usage Note 40790: Exception thrown in the log when saving SAS® BI Dashboard content
When attempting to save content in SAS BI Dashboard, such as ranges, data models, indicators or dashboards, you might see errors similar to the following in the SAS BI Dashboard log:
ERROR: Exception thrown: The communication channel with the peer closed unexpectedly.
ERROR: Exception thrown: Exception in the getObjectShadowByPath: The communication channel with the peer closed unexpectedly.
Cannot create: < NAME > because create by user: < userid > is not authorized for: System/Applications/SAS Bi Dashboard/BI Dashboard 4.2/Ranges
This error can occur after you modify BI Dashboard security. For example, the error might occur after you add the BI Dashboard Administrators group to another group. It also might occur after you modify groups and users assigned to the BI Dashboard: Administration role.
Typically, restarting the Web application server resolves this issue.
