Problem Note 40411: Performance problems occur when you open a campaign that uses treatments in SAS® Customer Intelligence Studio 5.3

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you use treatments in a SAS® Marketing Automation 5.3 campaign, the same campaign takes longer to open in SAS Customer Intelligence Studio 5.3 than it takes to open in SAS Customer Intelligence Studio 5.1.

For example, opening a campaign in SAS Customer Intelligence Studio 5.1 takes approximately seven seconds. However, when you migrate that same campaign to SAS Marketing Automation 5.3, it takes approximately 30-40 seconds to open.

There is also a difference in performance time when you open a SAS Marketing Automation 5.3 campaign with and without treatments. For example, a campaign with four treatments takes the following amounts of time to open:

  • 40 seconds to open the campaign
  • 30 seconds to open the brief

Opening the same campaign without treamtments takes less time, as follows:

  • 10 seconds to open the campaign
  • 01 second to open the brief

In SAS Marketing Automation 5.1, the treatments are stored just as simple character strings. However, in SAS Marketing Automation 5.3, they are stored as metadata objects in order to add more functionality.
