Problem Note 40143: E-mail output from SAS® 9.2 fails when attachments have an LRECL value greater than 1000

In SAS 9.2, SAS SMTP e-mail fails with the following error when the LRECL value of the attachment is greater than 1000. The same attachment is successful using SAS® 8.2 (TS2M0).
The job entry subsystem (JES) contains the following messages:
