Problem Note 40019: Changes to a SAS® Data Integration Studio Job are not saved

In SAS Data Integration Studio 4.21, you might not be able to save the changes that you made to a job. In this situation, the SAS Data Interation Studio log reports an exception that is similar to the following:
Exception in thread "BackgroundOperation" java.lang.NullPointerException
This problem often occurs due to a corrupt expression in a SQL Join transformation. There is currently no circumvention for this problem other than to delete and recreate the SQL Join transformation in the job.
