Usage Note 40736: System filter not applied in a Data-entry form if form set target hierarchy is part of the system filter and is also included as a slicer value
If you create a Data-entry form in SAS® Financial Management where the form set target hierarchy is also a member of a system filter definition, the system filter will not be applied if the target hierarchy is also included as a slicer value on the Data-entry form.
As an example, you define a Data-entry form set with the Product dimension as the target hierarchy. You then include the Product dimension on the slicer and the Country dimension on the rows.
System filters (linked dimensions) are then defined between the Country and Product dimensions, with Canada linked to the Product A family and the US linked to the Product B family (see below).
As you define the form, the table responds if the system filters are applied while the form set is still in draft mode (see below).
Note that once you publish the form set, the system filters are not honored when you open the form from SAS Financial Management Studio or from the SAS Information Delivery Portal.
Using the system filter definitions above, when you set the slicer value to Product A(vc), everything appears to be working fine (see below).
However, when you change the slicer value to Product B(vc), the value for Country does not change (see below). The filter combination is not honored because the target dimension is part of the filter definition and is also a slicer value.
Also note that when a published form set is opened for editing (data entry), the Filters option is not available and you can not enable or disable filter combinations (see below).
This is intended behavior in SAS Financial Management.
Per the SAS Financial Management User's Guide:
Filter Member Combination creates and applies one or more table filters based on the selected row or column headings (emphasis added).
