Usage Note 40613: "Unable to IDBInitialize" errors when using SAS 9.2
When attempting to import or export to Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access files in 9.2 of the SAS system, you can receive the following error:
ERROR: Connect: Unable to IDBInitialize
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.
NOTE: Attachments for -9 reestablished for new parent.
NOTE: Export Cancelled.
The problem can occur even when version 9.1 of the SAS system works correctly.
This happens because SAS 9.2 relies on the Microsoft Access Connectivity Engine and 9.1 uses the Microsoft Joint Engine Technology. To resolve the problem install the Microsoft Data Connectivity Components for Office 2007. Microsoft Office 2007 is not required in order to install these components. You can also use these components to install the latest Microsoft ODBC and OLEDB drivers.
You can change the display language dependent on the language of the machine.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
When using 9.2 of the SAS system to access Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access files, you can receive "Unable to IDBInitialize" errors. This means that the 2007 Microsoft ACE drivers are not installed.
