Problem Note 40566: UCS-2 transcoding errors can occur when you use the SAS PC Files Server on a DBCS edition of SAS® 9.2
When you use the SAS PC Files Server on double-byte character set (DBCS) editions of the SAS® System, you can receive the following error:
ERROR: Unable to transcode data to/from UCS-2 encoding.
WARNING: File deletion failed for _IMEX_.your-sheet-name.DATA.
This problem occurs with any DBCS edition of SAS (including Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) that has an encoding other than UTF-8.
To circumvent the problem, use an edition of SAS that has the UTF-8 encoding, which you can find in a location that is similar to the following:
"C:\Program Files\SAS\SASFoundation\9.2\sas.exe" –CONFIG "C:\Program Files\SAS\SASFoundation\9.2\nls\u8\SASV9.CFG"
