Usage Note 40390: Shared prompts might not be available to select for a filter in an OLAP-based SAS® Information Map

In order to use a shared prompt in an OLAP-based information map, the prompt must meet the following requirements:

The Prompt Type is OLAP member.
The Data Source for the prompt is another OLAP-based information map that contains the data item that you want to prompt for. For example, if you are creating a shared prompt for Product, then, as the data source, specify a different information map that also contains the Product data item.

Note: Do not specify the same information map in which you will be using the prompt.

Tip: Create an OLAP-based information map to use specifically as a source for shared prompts.

If the shared prompt does not meet the requirements, the Shared Prompts dialog box will be blank in SAS Information Map Studio.
