Problem Note 40281: System.Net.WebException: An exception occurred during a WebClient request. ---> System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'xyz' is denied

If you are unable to access or save SAS® Financial Management reports when working in the SAS Information Delivery Portal, the problem might be due to a security restriction.
If you see a message similar to the following in your AMO log:
System.Net.WebException: An exception occurred during a WebClient request. ---> System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'xyz' is denied.then the user's defined default Excel library is not a writeable location.
To correct this:
For Excel 2010:
- From the Excel menu bar, select
File > Options
- Select "Save".
- For "Default file location:", enter a path that the user has write access to.
- Select "OK".
- You might need to restart Excel for the change to take effect.
For Excel 2007:
- Select the Office button.
- Select "Excel Options".
- Select "Save".
- For "Default file location:", enter a path that the user has write access to.
- Select "OK".
- You might need to restart Excel for the change to take effect.
For Excel 2003:
- From the Excel menu bar, select
Tools > Options
- Select the "General" tab.
- For "Default file location:", enter a path that the user has write access to.
- Select "OK".
- You might need to restart Excel for the change to take effect.
