Usage Note 40210: Customizing the Welcome page for the SAS® Stored Process Web Application
When you run the SAS Stored Process Web Application in SAS® 9.2 and later releases, you can customize the Welcome page. To customize the Welcome page, you can modify the appropriate JSP file or HTML file, or you can create a new file.
When you log in to the SAS Stored Process Web Application, the following sequence determines which Welcome page displays:
- Use the value for _WELCOME, if this value has been set.
- Use the value of the WelcomePage initialization parameter, if this value has been set.
- Check for a Welcome.jsp file in the /jsp directory.
- Display the SAS Stored Process Web Application version and build number.
This is the default location of the Welcome.jsp file:
- SAS 9.2: <Java-application-server-root>/sas.storedprocess9.2.ear/sas.storedprocess.war/jsp/Welcome.jsp
- SAS 9.3: <Java-application-server-root>/sas.storedprocess9.3.ear/sas.storedprocess.war/jsp/Welcome.jsp
- SAS 9.4: <SAS-configuration-directory>/Lev1/Web/WebAppServer/SASServer1_1/sas_webapps/sas.storedprocess.war/jsp/Welcome.jsp
To use the WelcomePage initialization parameter, follow these steps in SAS® Management Console:
- On the Plug-ins tab, select Application Management ► Configuration Manager.
- Right-click Stored Process Web Application 9.x and then select Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- On the Advanced tab, click the Add button to add the Property Name and the Property Value for the WelcomePage initialization parameter. For example:
Property Name: WelcomePage
Property Value:/your-directory/WelcomePage.html
If you specify a JSP file rather than an HTML file, then the path must be an HTTP relative path under the SASStoredProcess directory, and the path must begin with a forward slash (/). For example:
Property Value: /WelcomePage2.jsp
The following path of the WelcomePage2.jsp file is then used:
SAS 9.2: <Java-application-server-root>/sas.storedprocess9.2.ear/sas.storedprocess.war/WelcomePage2.jsp
SAS 9.3: <Java-application-server-root>/sas.storedprocess9.3.ear/sas.storedprocess.war/WelcomePage2.jsp
SAS 9.4: <SAS-configuration-directory>/Web/WebAppServer/SASServer1_1/sas_webapps/sas.storedprocess.war/WelcomePage2.jsp
- You can access the Welcome page for the SAS Stored Process Web Application by navigating to the following web page:
http://your-web-server-name:port-number/SASStoredProcess/do
In this web address, you provide the appropriate host name and port number for your-web-server-name:port-number.
For more information about the WelcomePage initialization parameter, see Initialization Parameters in the SAS® 9.4 Stored Processes: Developer's Guide.
