Usage Note 39913: You can use only alphanumeric characters or underscores in parameter names for SAS® Stored Processes in the SAS Stored Process Web Application
When you use the SAS Stored Process Web Application to run SAS® Stored Processes, only alphanumeric characters or underscores can be used for the parameter names. Parameters for SAS Stored Processes follow the same rules as SAS macro variables. Parameter names must start with an alphabetic character or underscore and can contain only alphanumeric characters or underscores. The parameter naming rules for the SAS Stored Process Web Application are not the same as the parameter naming rules for the SAS/IntrNet® Application Server.
In the SAS/IntrNet Application Server, you can use a period in a parameter name. The SAS/IntrNet Application Server then converts the period to an underscore. For example, the parameter name MY.PARM=1 is converted to MY_PARM=1. However, in the Stored Process Web Application, you cannot use a period in a parameter name.
If a parameter name in the SAS Stored Process Web Application contains an invalid character, such as a period, the following error message appears:
your-parameter-name is an invalid name because it contains characters other
than alphanumeric values or underscore.
To resolve this issue, change the parameter name so that it includes only alphabetic characters or underscores.
