Problem Note 39599: SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office cannot open an information map if a data item includes an apostrophe in its ID

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When opening an information map in Microsoft Excel using the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office, you might see a syntax error similar to the following after you select the data items to include in the query.

             ______ __________ 49 49
22 76 _ 49 ERROR 22-322:
Syntax error, expecting one of the following: a name, ;, DEFAULT, _ALL_,
_CHARACTER_, _CHAR_, _NUMERIC_. ERROR 76-322: Syntax error,
statement will be ignored. __ _________
__________ 49 49 49

When opening the information map in Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint, you probably will not see an error but no results are returned.

This problem occurs if one (or more) of the selected data items includes an apostrophe in its ID. One way to remove the ID from the data item name is to create a new data item based on the column in the table but use a name that does not include an apostrophe. Before making any change to the information map, make sure that the data item is not being used in any reports.
