Problem Note 39517: "Read Access Violation" or "Segmentation Violation" errors might be generated when creating ODS RTF output

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It
Errors like the following might be generated when creating ODS RTF output using code that includes extensive use of ODS RTF TEXT= statements and raw RTF code to generate numerous pages in an RTF file:
ERROR: Segmentation Violation ERROR: Read Access Violation

The problem is most likely to occur if all of the following are true:

  • A one-level style name is used. For example, the option STYLE=MYSTYLE is specified instead of STYLE=STYLES.MYSTYLE.

  • The orientation of the file is changed from portrait to landscape or vice versa.

  • The ODS RTF option STARTPAGE= is changed often using the values of YES/ON, NO/OFF, or NOW.

A hot fix is available for this issue.
