In SAS Enterprise Guide, if your query includes a computed column that uses a CASE statement, which, in turn, contains an aggregate function such as SUM() or AVG(), then the Query Builder will generate invalid SQL if you also include an aggregate function in the query.
Once the computed column is included in the query, the Automatically select groups option will include it and generate invalid SQL, resulting in the following error:
ERROR: Summary functions are restricted to the SELECT and HAVING clauses only.
