If you attempt to import a Microsoft Excel file that contains a single column of data into SAS Enterprise Guide, the following error will occur:
No data was located within any of the workbooks of the Excel file. As a result, data can not be imported from this file.
This problem can occur when the file contains one worksheet with only one column of data, and when the client machine does not have any Microsoft Office products installed on it. If you import the Excel file on another client machine with Microsoft Office installed, then the error should not occur. Also, if you add another column of data to the worksheet, and then import it on a machine without Microsoft Office, the file imports successfully.
As a workaround, add a dummy column of data to the worksheet, import the file, and then remove the dummy data from the data set.
