Problem Note 39662: SAS Web applications do not function after you apply a new setinit
When you apply a new setinit to a system, you must also update the metadata with the SAS® Deployment Manager in order to provide setinit validation for SAS Web applications.
The System Validation Service in the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform relies on this metadata to validate the setinit. Otherwise, the SAS Web Applications will no longer function.
To update the metadata so that it contains the new setinit, complete the following steps:
- Open the SAS Deployment Manager using the config.exe file that is located in the directory
!sasroot\SASDeploymentManager\9.2.
- Click the button for the Update SID file in Metadata configuration task.
The task description states the following: "Update SID file in metadata to license certain SAS mid-tier products. SAS Foundation software is not affected by this option".
- Click Next and complete the remaining prompts.
Once the metadata is updated, the SAS Web Applications will function properly.

Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
When you apply a new setinit, you must use the SAS® Deployment Manager to update the metadata in order to validate the setinit for the middle tier.
