Problem Note 39594: GROUP and ORDER variables that break across a page do not repeat when using ODS RTF
The SPANROWS option in PROC REPORT allows GROUP and ORDER variable values to repeat when the values break across pages in PDF, PS, and TAGSETS.RTF destinations. GROUP and ORDER variables will not repeat values across the page in the ODS RTF destination.
To circumvent the problem for the ODS RTF destination, create a variable to page by. This variable should be defined as either GROUP or ORDER, and placed on a BREAK BEFORE or BREAK AFTER statement with the PAGE option specified.
The merged cell appearance does apply to all of the destinations when specifying the SPANROWS option.
