Usage Note 39593: SASĀ® Web Report Studio does not support pasting formatted text from the system clipboard into headers, footers, or text objects
No version of SAS Web Report Studio supports pasting formatted text from the system clipboard into headers, footers, or text objects. This is expected behavior as the result of security restrictions that are implemented by Web browsers in order to prevent cross-site scripting. (Browsers also have limitations when editing and rendering HTML at the same time.)
In addition, you might see differences in behavior depending on which browser and which version of SAS Web Report Studio that you are using. For example, Mozilla Firefox has more restrictions on copying and pasting from the system clipboard than Microsoft Internet Explorer. So, SAS Web Report Studio 3.1 used with Internet Explorer 6 might handle pasted text differently than version 4.3 used with Firefox 3.6.
In summary, although you are not prevented from pasting text from the system clipboard into headers, footers, and text objects, taking this action causes unpredictable results. For example, all text formatting is removed from pasted content, and attempts to reformat the text by using the style tools in the header, footer, or text object might fail. Also, pasted text might appear differently depending on the Web browser being used.
For the most consistent results, paste only small amounts of unformatted text (such as text from a plain text editor) into headers, footers, and text objects.
