Problem Note 39446: Errors will occur when using an IBM display device driver in batch with SAS® 9.2 on z/OS
The following errors will occur when using an IBM display device driver, such as IBM3179, IBM3279, or IBMPCGX, in batch with SAS 9.2 on z/OS:
ERROR: No terminal connected to the SAS session.
ERROR: Unable to initialize graphics device.
ERROR: Driver SASGDDMX will not load.
ERROR: Device initialization has failed.
The errors above will occur with or without the NODISPLAY graphics option.
To circumvent the problem, modify the value for the DEVICE= option on the GOPTIONS statement and specify a device driver other than an IBM display device (such as GIF or PNG). Also make sure to specify the NODISPLAY graphics option, as follows:
goptions reset=goptions device=gif nodisplay;
